CARE:
Machine washed with warm water, tumble dry low heat, remove from dryer promptly.  Remember if it is 100% cotton you should preshrink before sewing your project because they can shrink.

USES: excellent for Jackets, both shell and linings, and bag liners where a soft pile is desirable. Most Rolls are 58-62" wide, with the stretch (lycra) rolls narrower, more like 55-58" wide.

We carry Thinsulate(tm) brand insulation from 3M.  Thinsulate "Classic Comfort" Insulation is used extensively for outerwear, ski- and board wear, and anywhere else a thin efficient is required.  It is breathable, moisture resistant, and both machine washable and dry cleanable, depending on the shell construction.  In fact, tests by 3M show that repeated washings or dry cleaning does not affect the performance. 

Today, because of 3M's dedication to continuous innovation, Thinsulate insulation is still the warmest thin insulation on the market. In fact, when equal thicknesses are compared, it provides about 1-1/2 times the warmth of down and about twice the warmth of other high-loft insulating materials. And because Thinsulate insulation absorbs less than 1% of its weight in water, it retains its insulating ability even in damp conditions.

Thinsulate comes in a 60" width.

Thinsulate insulation is as weight efficient as Down and better than other leading brands of synthetic insulation.

Laundering
Machine washing and tumble drying are the preferred manner of laundering.

If the other fibers in the garment are machine washable and dryable, this should be the recommended method for cleaning. The heat generated by machine drying will help recover any lost stretch that occurred during the wearing of a garment. Thorough washing, rinsing and drying in machines brings out the best in Lycra.

Dry cleaning
Dry cleaning Lycra is no problem. Although some solvents may temporarily swell the fiber, proper rinsing provided by a professional dry cleaner recovers all stretch and recovery properties of the garment. Lycra does retain the odor of dry cleaning solutions a little longer than most fibers, but it will quickly disappear with a little airing.

No Chlorine Bleach
To improve the life and look of garments with Lycra, the only thing that should be avoided is chlorine bleach. Aside from that, you need only provide the care determined by the other fabrics. Exposure to chlorine can lead to discoloration, stretch and eventual breakage of the  Lycra fibers.

All-fabric bleach can be used for the laundering of garments with Lycra. It is particularly useful in preventing any graying of  the fabric caused by absorption of soils and detergents.

Since LYCRA® is usually the minority component in a given fabric, let the other fibers guide your care instructions. If other fibers or the trim or binding of a garment require hand washing, dry cleaning, or low-temperature washing and drying, their needs will determine the care instructions. Lycra will easily withstand repeated cleanings of all these types. When in doubt, wash or dry clean according to the primary fiber in the blend.

Neoprene uses: shallow diving wet suits, surfing, etc.

SBR uses: Sports, misc padding, horse applications, etc.

Neoprene and SBR are priced by the linear inch. Most sheets are 50" wide. Ex: If you ordered 5", you would receive a sheet 5x50". Full sheets, 50x80-84" - would receive a wholesale discount.

Nytek is microporous, allowing heat & water vapor to pass through. Because Nytek is breathable, heat is dissipated in warm weather and retained in cold weather.

The nylon composition gives the material the same permeability to air and moisture found in high quality leathers.

100% Polyester, use like CORDURA®, this fabric is not as durable as Nylon but holds up better if in direct sunlight or constant water

W.L. Gore & Associates developed a laminate they apply to fabrics, which are then referred to as Gore-Tex.  Other companies have developed coatings they apply which have the same effect, such as Dupont's Ultrex.

The basic concept for the Gore-Tex membrane is that the membrane has sufficient space between the interconnected membrane strands to allow easy passage of individual water molecules but not enough to permit water droplets to pass. Gore has strict guidelines for which fabrics they will laminate to the Gore-Tex membrane. Fabric weight, fiber quality, and durability are examples of criteria Gore uses when determining if a certain fabric will be used.

Many Gore-Tex fabrics are a two-ply fabric and should be lined to protect the breathable membrane. Three-ply fabrics already posses a liner and so save you the effort of putting one in.

CARE
Keep as free of dirt as possible. Brush off dirt or dust with either a dry or damp cloth as soon as possible. The soiled areas are not vapor permeable. Machine wash with wash-and-wear or low setting. Use warm water with low-phosphate detergent. Fabric softeners not recommended. Do not use bleach. For best performance, rinse twice using cold water to remove excess detergent. Tumble dry on low setting. Do not dry clean.
